Watch: We Caught up with Canada's Wheelchair Basketball Teams Ahead of the Paralympic Games

We met the men's and women's teams in Toronto before they take off for the Paralympics, which begin Sept. 7 in Rio.

We caught up with Canada's men's and women's wheelchair basketball teams at the Pan Am Sports Centre in Toronto to watch them prepare for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Rio.

Members of each team talked to us about their love and passion for the sport, what sets wheelchair basketball apart, getting banged up on the court, and the doping scandal that's keeping Russian athletes out of the Paralympics. Check out the video to get a glimpse into the world of Canada's wheelchair basketball programs.

The Paralympics start Sept. 7, with wheelchair basketball beginning the following day. There will be 12 teams competing on the men's side, and 10 women's teams battling for gold.
