Things are moving quickly for Bertie Blackman, racing toward the release of her fifth album The Dash. The first single "Run For Your Life" gives a sense of the momentum. It's an 80s inspired jam; an ode to escape and freedom. For Bertie the record was a chance to make a fresh pop record with a variety of producers, and while we wait to hear the rest of the record THUMP is very pleased to preview some alternate takes on the original. Perth's Sable spotlights the emotive heart of the song with his electro-pop power ballad version. Chiefs takes the song straight to the club with a euphoric hip hop overhaul that captures and concentrates the energy of the original. And fellow Melbourne act Hopium complete the remix package with an equally powerful slow electro overhaul. We're digging the reworks, and Bertie Blackman shares her thoughts on each below as well.
